- New warranty program announced
- Applicable on all RE bikes
- Private imports aren’t eligible
Royal Enfield has introduced an interesting warranty program for all of its motorcycles. This warranty program applies to over 70 countries.
The company is calling this ‘Borderless Warranty Program’ under which covers all the bikes that have been purchased through Royal Enfield’s authorised service centre across the globe. However, only the bikes that are under warranty can be a part of this program.
Through this new warranty initiative, customers who are riding their bikes in different countries, can not only get their bike serviced but also claim for warranty in case of any defects on the motorcycle. However, there’s still no information on how the company would track the servicing or warranty claims of these bikes as the back-end systems of dealerships in India and outside could differ.
Interestingly, there is an eligibility criteria to be a part of this program. Firstly, all the bikes must have been serviced at official service centres and as per the periodic maintenance chart. Then, the bikes that have been imported privately into other countries aren’t a part of this warranty program.
Such initiatives by brands are quite useful as a lot more riders have started taking their motorcycles to other countries. There’s always a struggle when it comes to getting the bike serviced or finding parts. It looks like Royal Enfield knows how to cater to such riders.
