- Parallel twin 650cc cruiser is in the works
- Code named P16
- Likely to be powered by the same engine as the X-Cape
Moto Morini has been gradually expanding its portfolio and a middleweight cruiser could be on the horizon. New details about the upcoming Moto Morini bike have been leaked and here’s what we know so far.
From the newly leaked design patents, we’ve learned that the bike will be a thorough cruiser offering a laid-back and low stance, scooped seat, wide handlebar, and a round headlight with a small cowl around it. It even gets a dash of slightly modern styling clues like bar end mirrors, and a flyscreen as well. The raked-out front end and the bulbous-looking fuel tank contribute to the visual mass of this leaked design.
Moto Morini is likely to use the same 649cc parallel-twin motor that is borrowed from CFMoto for the X-Cape 650 and the Seiemmezzo. In its current state of tune, the engine dishes out 59.17 bhp and 54 Nm. But it won’t be a surprise if the cruiser gets a slightly different tune to suit its purpose. The design patent reveals that the motor will be packed in a double cradle frame suspended on gaitered telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks.
We expect it to feature LED illumination a TFT dash with all the necessary readouts and ABS for the rider aids.
Last but not least, the patents seem close to a production model and you can expect an official announcement from the brand soon. Since Moto Morini has offered quite a few of its bikes here, we expect the cruiser to debut in India once launched overseas.
