- RE opens new CKD plant in Thailand
- Kits will be sent from India
- Will assemble Himalayan, 650cc twins
Royal Enfield has opened its new completely-knocked-down (CKD) plant in Thailand. This new plant has been setup in partnership with GPX –a local company in Thailand.
This new plant will also act as a hub to distribute motorcycles to other Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam and Indonesia. This new plant will assemble motorcycles like the Himalayan and the 650cc twins. The kits will come in from India, assemble in Thailand and then sell it in the country and also export it to the neighbouring countries.
Royal Enfield is betting big in Thailand. It has managed to gain market share in short span, thanks to great marketing and also thanks to motorcycles like the Interceptor that has managed to entice the Thai market.
