- Royal Enfield sold 27,294 units during May 2021
- Domestic sales grew by nine per cent

Royal Enfield has released its year-on-year sales data for the month of May. The company reported a 43 per cent growth in the overall sales over May 2020. The Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer sold 27,294 units (domestic and exports) during May 2021 as against 19,113 units in the corresponding month last year.
The company sold 20,073 motorcycles in the domestic market in May this year as against 18,429 units in May 2020, registering a growth of nine per cent. Exports grew by 956 per cent during the month and Royal Enfield sold 7,221 two-wheelers in the international markets during May 2021 as against 684 units in the same month last year. The year-to-date data saw a 320 per cent growth, rising from 19,204 units in FY2020-21 to 80,592 in FY2021-22.
The two-wheeler manufacturer said in its press statement that the months of May 2020 and May 2021 were impacted by the lockdown and strict restrictions across the country because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The production activity at Royal Enfield’s plants in Chennai, and retail networks across the country were impacted due to local lockdowns.
