- Domestic sales grew by 61 per cent

Royal Enfield has reported its sales data for August 2022, and the Chennai-based manufacturer has registered 53 per cent growth in the recently concluded month over the corresponding period last year.
The company sold 62,236 units in the domestic market in August 2022 as against 38,572 units in August 2021, thus recording a growth of 61 per cent. The exports increased from 7,288 units in August 2021 to 7,876 units in August 2022, witnessing an increase of 8.1 per cent. With this, the overall sales for the month stood at 70,112 units as against 45,860 units in August 2021. During the month, Royal Enfield expanded its product portfolio with the launch of the new Hunter 350. This new motorcycle from Royal Enfield is available in three variants – Retro Factory, Metro Dapper, and Metro Rebel – and its prices start from Rs 1,49,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Speaking about the sales performance, B Govindarajan, CEO, Royal Enfield, said that the Hunter 350 has received an unprecedented response since its launch. He further added that this new motorcycle will be available for sale across several international markets in the coming months.
Meanwhile, the year-to-date (April-August) sales performance, too, grew in FY2022-23 and the company registered a 47 per cent rise in numbers over the corresponding period last year. The domestic sales and exports grew by 45 per cent and 57 per cent, respectively over the previous fiscal year.
