- Royal Enfield’s FY2020-21 sales stood at 6,09,403 units
- Company introduced new and updated models during the year
- Royal Enfield registered strong performance in Q4
Eicher Motors recently announced its sales data for the FY2020-21. The data included the sales performance for Royal Enfield. The Chennai-based two-wheeler maker reported a 13 per cent decline in the numbers compared to the last financial year.
The company sold 6,09,403 units in FY2020-21 as against 6,97,582 motorcycles sold in FY 2019-20. The fall in sales performance can be associated with the Coronavirus pandemic and the related lockdown which caused disruption in production, supply chain, and retail operations.
The sales, however, picked up in the second half of the financial year. Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd., said that Royal Enfield witnessed a very good pick up in the second half of the year, and registered a strong performance in Q4. The company saw an encouraging demand coming from rural as well as urban segments.
The two-wheeler maker introduced new and updated models in the country during the financial year. The company launched the new Meteor 350 along with the updated Himalayan and the 650 Twin motorcycles.
Royal Enfield also expanded its reach in the country with new outlets. The company added 535 dealerships and studio format stores during the year, taking its retail presence to 2,056 touchpoints across the country.
