- Domestic sales fell by 23 per cent

Royal Enfield has reported its sales data for January 2022. The Chennai-based two-wheeler maker achieved overall sales of 58,838 units in January 2022 as against 68,887 units in the corresponding month last year, a decline of 15 per cent.
Royal Enfield said in its press statement that it achieved the sales numbers despite production being impacted by the onset of the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing shortage of semiconductor chips.
The domestic sales declined by 23 per cent, falling from 64,372 units in January 2021 to 49,726 units in January 2022. The exports, on the other hand, increased by 102 per cent. Royal Enfield exported 9,112 units in January 2022 as against 4,515 units in January last year.
The company also announced that it has introduced the new Classic 350 to several global markets in January 2022. These include the Philippines, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. In addition, the company recently rolled out the 1,00,000th unit of the all-new Classic 350 from its manufacturing facility.
