Royal Enfield’s Café Racer will be making its international debut at Long Beach International Motorcycle Show which will be held between 7th and 9th December, 2012 at Long Beach, California. The prototype was first unveiled during 2012 Delhi Auto Expo but there was no official statement from the company about the production version.
According to one of the forums on the Royal Enfield website, a member has seen this motorcycle. The member claims there are a number of changes compared to the prototype. There is no Ohlins suspension, no adjustable rear seat and there are interesting numbers on the tappet cover which reads to 535. The motorcycle might be powered by 535cc Unit Construction engine (UCE). Cafe Racer had to undergo this change as the company wants to keep cost in check. We can say therefore infer that the production version of this motorcycle is almost ready. The company might launch this motorcycle sometime next year, but there is no concrete information to back this up yet.
