- RE to shut down plants for 3 days
- To safeguard employees from second wave
Royal Enfield has once again decided to shut down all of its manufacturing units in Tamil Nadu temporarily. This is being done due to rising COVID-19 cases in the region and safeguard its employees.
The company will shut down its Thiruvottiyur, Vallam Vadagal and Oragadam facilities for three days starting from 27 May. Royal Enfield had previously shut its plants between May 13 and 16 for the same reasons. However, it used these shutdowns for maintenance.
Every two-wheeler brand along with Royal Enfield has been affected by the second wave and things are likely to continue for a few more weeks. As a result, Royal Enfield had to push some of its important motorcycle launches. The new Hunter and the next-generation Classic 350 were supposed to hit the market but it looks like the Indian buyers will have to wait for a few more months.
