- Sherco TVS announces its team for 2020 Dakar Rally
- Comprises of Michael Metge, Johnny Aubert, Lorenzo Santolino and Harith Noah
- 2020 Dakar Rally will be held in Saudi Arabia for the first time
Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team announced its team of riders for the 2020 Dakar Rally at the ongoing TVS MotoSoul event in Goa. The four-rider squad comprises of Michael Metge and Johnny Aubert from France, Lorenzo Santolino from Spain and the Indian boy Harith Noah.
Sherco TVS had a good run in the international rally events it participated in this year. The team battled it out at the Merzouga Rally, Desert Storm and Baja Aragon and is looking forward to put up a strong show at the Dakar. The team is confident with its bunch of riders. While India’s Harith will be making his Dakar debut this time, others bag a fair bit of experience with Michael competing in the event for the seventh time and Johnny having finished sixth last year. As for Lorenzo, this will the second Dakar outing for the Spanish rider.
The Indian rider Aravind KP, who successfully finished the previous Dakar at 37th position, won’t be able to participate in the upcoming season courtesy the leg injury he sustained in a practice session earlier this year. Notably, Aravind has been associated with Sherco TVS since 2006.
The 2020 Dakar Rally will be held from 5 to 17 January. It will be the 42nd edition of the event which will be held in Saudi Arabia for the first time as the previous editions have scaled the terrains of Africa and South America. It is anticipated to be an action-packed and thrilling competition with the riders passing through the challenging terrain of Riyadh, on their journey from Jeddah to Al Qiddiya.
