- Dot One and Simple Dot One trademarked
- Could be placed below the Simple One
- Likely to get 180km of range
Simple Energy has trademarked a couple of new names and the registrations for it have now surfaced on the web as well. The first one is the Dot One and the other is Simple Dot One. Both names have been filed by Simple Energy Private Limited.
The Bengaluru-based EV startup could likely launch slightly more affordable models compared to its current options. For reference, the Simple One was priced at Rs. 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) and was offered with one fixed and one portable battery unit. Now, the model(s) are likely to get a smaller capacity battery pack with a range of around 180km. The debut timeline for the new e-scooters is around October of this year.
The Simple One on the other hand gets a 4.5kW motor linked to a 5kWh battery pack. Simple Energy claims that it can clock 212km on a single charge and gets a top speed of 105kmph. Even the design of the Simple One is quite impressive, thanks to the sporty fascia with cuts and creases on the bodywork. It looks quite youthful overall.
We expect the Dot One/Simple Dot One to borrow styling and hardware bits from the current Simple Energy scooter. But the same will be confirmed once there is an official announcement from the company.
If you are looking for affordable EVs now, then Ola and Ather both have launched their new e-scooters. Ola has brought the S1 Air and Ather has launched the 450S as its most affordable model.
