- Soriano Motori’s first electric motorcycle
- Uses twin motors in a ‘boxer’ arrangement
- Likely to be unveiled by end of 2020
Soriano Motori Corporation, an Italian manufacturer has revealed its first motorcycle; the Giaguaro (translates to Jaguar in Italian).
The motorcycle is offered in three variants- V1S, V1R, and top-spec V1 Gara. All three versions of the Giaguaro feature superbike-like styling albeit with smooth body lines. However, the girder type front suspension and the unique-arrangement of the LEDs in the headlamp give the Soriano Motori Giaguaro a distinctive look.
Underneath the bodywork, the electric motorcycle uses two motors joined in a ‘boxer’ arrangement. The system, which Soriano Motori calls a duo-flex motor, can either run independently for increased battery range or run together for better performance. Nevertheless, the Giaguaro is expected to offer a range of 150km on a single-charge and top-speed of 180kmph.
In terms of features, the electric motorcycle comes with a six-axis IMU, traction control, and lean-sensitive ABS along with a three-speed gearbox. While the gearbox is an interesting feature, the company has not yet revealed its functionality.
Soriano Motori is accepting pre-orders for the Giaguaro although it scheduled to be launched only by November at the 2020 EICMA. Considering its specs, the Italian manufacturer is looking to go up against the Harley-Davidson LiveWire and the Zero SR/F that are sold in international markets.
