- Sportier version of GSX-S300 leaked
- Likely to be a European product
- Could debut at 2019 EICMA
Late last year, Suzuki had revealed the GSX-S300, a twin-cylinder streetfighter in China. Now thanks to some leaked patent pictures, we now know that there’s a sportier version of the GSX-S300 in the making.
The GSX-S300 is an actually called the Houjue DR300 in China as it is manufactured by Houjue, Suzuki’s Chinese partner. While the DR300 is an aggressively styled naked bike for the Chinese market, the leaked pictures hints at a motorcycle made for the European market. Things like ABS, side reflectors, extended number plate hanger can be seen on the bike.
Rest of the cycle parts are from the GSX-S300. The bike is built around the same 298cc liquid-cooled motor, which is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The chassis, suspension setup and even the braking system are likely to be borrowed from the GSX-S300 once the bike is production ready. The fascia of the upcoming Suzuki gets a twin headlight setup. It is likely to have LED DRL treatment to it.
We are expecting this bike to be unveiled at the 2019 EICMA as that’s the best place to showcase a new product which is being targeted at European market. Will it come to India? It might as the market is growing for such bikes. But for now, Suzuki is focusing on their Gixxer 250 which is likely to make its India debut very soon.
