- GSX-8R is powered by a new 776cc engine
- Unlikely to be launched in India
- S1000GX gets electronic suspension, cornering ABS, traction control, and more
Suzuki has taken the stage at EICMA 2023 with two new offerings, the GSX-8R and the GSX-S1000GX. Both bikes have been showcased in Italy and their specifications, too, have been revealed.
The GSX-8R gets a sporty demeanour with its pointed fascia. The front end is a mix of sharp body panels, transparent visor, and ducts on the side of the headlight. Speaking of illumination, the new GSX-8R gets vertically stacked projector LEDs. Compared to a thorough supersport, the GSX-8R looks a tad relaxed, since it is more oriented towards sports touring. The handlebar is set high and the rider triangle, too, is upright.
Powering the new GSX-8R is a 776cc inline twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. Suzuki is yet to reveal the output figures. The bike features ride-by-wire, low rpm assist, traction control, bi-directional quickshifter, ride modes, ABS, and easy start as well. The hardware for the Suzuki GSX-8R includes a steel frame suspended on Showa SFF-BP forks and a linked rear shock. Its brakes comprise a dual 310mm front and a single 240mm rear disc. These are linked to 17-inch cast aluminum wheels shod with Dunlop RoadSport 2 tyres.
Suzuki only has the Katana in its sports tourer segment for India as of now. Further, the chances of GSX-8R being launched here are bleak.
