Suzuki has just updated its litre-class motorcycle, the GSX-R1000R, in the Japanese market. This flagship motorcycle has received only cosmetic upgrades while mechanically it has remained the same. It is priced at 2,156,000 yen, which converts to Rs 14.55 lakh. While its India launch details are unknown, let's take a look at the details of the same.
Design
The Suzuki GSX-R1000R gets a sharp and aggressive look. The fully-faired motorcycle comes with fairing-mounted mirrors, Suzuki graphics across its body, a split seat setup with a grab handle strap and a raised exhaust. The litre-class motorcycle is available in three colour options: MotoGP livery, Matte Black Metallic and the new Matte Black Metallic with Glass Matte Mechanical Gray. This new Black and Gray paint scheme is only available in Japan and it gets Blue-coloured alloy wheels and Black graphics across its body.
Features
This flagship Suzuki offering gets features like all LED lights, LCD instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, ten-level traction control, low rpm assist, Suzuki easy start, ride-by-wire, launch control, a quick shifter and three riding modes.
Engine
Powering the Suzuki GSX-R1000R is a 999cc water-cooled inline four-cylinder engine that sits in a diamond frame and produces 194.45bhp at 13,200rpm and 117Nm at 10,800rpm. All this power and torque is taken to its wheels via a six-speed transmission.
Hardware
The suspension duty is handled by Showa inverted forks at the front and Showa mono-shock at the rear. Meanwhile, for braking, it employs a 320mm dual disc at the front and a 220mm single disc at the rear assisted by dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels that are wrapped in tyres having 120mm width at the front and 190mm width at the rear. The seat height here is kept at 825mm while the bike weighs 203kg.
