- 2021 Suzuki GSX-S125 launched in Japan
- Gets two new colour options
- Remains the same mechanically
Suzuki has introduced the 2021 edition of the smallest member of its iconic GSX family, the GSX-S125, in Japan. The naked street bike has received two new colour options while remaining unchanged on the mechanical front.
The bolder and more dynamic paint scheme of the two is Triton Blue Metallic. While its entire bodywork has been dipped in blue paint, there are black graphics on the fuel tank along with yellow accents on the tank extensions. It also gets yellow coloured ‘125’ decal on the tail. The second colour scheme is Titan Black sporting black as its base colour with blue highlights and blue alloy wheels.
The 2021 GSX-125 continues to be powered by a 124cc, single-cylinder, four-valve, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine which produces 14.8bhp at 10,000rpm and 11Nm at 8,000rpm. That’s close to some of the 150-160cc bikes available in India like the Hero Xtreme 160R and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. Interestingly, this motor comes equipped with a six-speed gearbox, which is quite uncommon for this displacement.
Suzuki has equipped the 2021 GSX-125 with a decent number of features such as an LED headlamp, LED DRLs, fully-digital instrument cluster and a dual-channel ABS setup. The fuel tank capacity stands at 11 litres. In its home country, the GSX-S125 costs Rs 382,800 Yen (approximately Rs 2.69 lakh). In India, the smallest street bike in Suzuki’s portfolio is the Gixxer which is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom).
