- Suzuki to export 125-300cc bikes from India
- India will be a global manufacturing hub
- Will export Gixxer, Intruder range
Suzuki India has decided to become a major export hub for its small-displacement motorcycles. This development was recently confirmed by one of their top honchos.
According to a report, Suzuki – the Indian arm’s parent company in Japan has asked the brand to make India their global export for 125cc to 300cc motorcycles. The company wants to make these bikes in India and export them to the rest of the world.
So far the Japanese brand makes the Intruder and the Gixxer range of motorcycles in India. While the Gixxer has both 155cc and 250cc bikes under its umbrella, the Intruder cruiser is limited to just 155cc. There’s an Intruder 250 already developed and ready, but Suzuki hasn’t launched it in India due to poor response to the bikes.
This new development is likely to make India a very important country for Suzuki. We can expect the overall quality of their bikes to improve since the world markets demand excellent quality.
