- Overall sales stood at 84,966 units last month
- Month on month sales also grew substantially
Suzuki Motorcycle India has released its sales data for the month of January 2023 affirming that the company started the new year on a good note. The Indian arm of the Japanese brand witnessed an overall year-on-year sales growth of as much as 21.2 per cent last month.
The company sold 84,966 units in January this year which was up from 70,092 units in the corresponding month last year. While domestic dispatches stood at 66,209 units, the brand exported 18,757 units. Notably, the company’s overall sales is substantially higher as compared to the previous month (December 2022) as well when it found 63,912 takers overall.
In other news, Suzuki unveiled its first flex fuel vehicle, the Gixxer 250 FFV, at the 2023 Auto Expo last month. While the motorcycle is identical to the standard trim in terms of visuals, features, and most of the hardware, the engine has been internally revised to be compatible with a range of ethanol-based fuels (E20 to E85). Also, as we reported last week, Suzuki is working on an EV which will mostly be an electric scooter. As per Suzuki’s product plan, this e-scooter will be launched in 2024.
