Suzuki Motorcycle India (SMIPL) has started the new financial year on a positive note by registering a sales growth of 9.25 per cent in April 2019. The company recorded a sale of 57,072 units in the domestic market as compared to 52,237 units in the corresponding previous year. For Y-O-Y growth, SMIPL achieved a healthy growth of 12.57 per cent with total sales including domestic and exports adding up to 65,942 units. For the corresponding month last year, the manufacturer recorded a total sales of 58,577 units.
With the start of the new financial year, SMIPL is aiming at achieving strong performance in FY19-20. The company has targeted to achieve a one million sales target. In order to accomplish the same, the strategy will be to strengthen the dealership network and product portfolio by introducing new products that will cater to a large customer base. On that note, the company is gearing up for the launch of a new 250cc offering likely to be called the Gixxer SF 250 on 20 May. With the introduction of this new product, Suzuki will be able to tap on the growing quarter-litre displacement segment. Besides that, the company also recently launched the 2019 edition of its Intruder 150 cruiser.
