- Suzuki sells 55,608 units in India in September 2021
- It had dispatched 65,195 units in the same month last year
The last month went quite bleak for Suzuki Motorcycle India as the company witnessed a considerable downfall in its domestic sales. The Indian arm of the Japanese brand sold 55,608 units of two-wheelers in the country, as against 65,195 units in September last year. However, export numbers went up from 6,466 units last year to 12,404 units this year.
Highlighting this decline in domestic sales, the company MD, Satoshi Uchida, said that there have been supply chain constraints in India as well as globally which contributed to the brand not being able to cater to the consumer demands. Interestingly, the situation was much better for the brand in August 2021 when it had dispatched a total of 73,463 units, recording a growth of nearly 27 per cent.
Suzuki’s newest offering in India is the 2021 edition of the iconic Hayabusa. The company has received a profoundly favourable response for the motorcycle in India as the first two slots of the Busa went out of stock within two days each. In the coming days, we might see Suzuki hopping the EV bandwagon with the launch of the Burgman Street 125 electric version.
