Suzuki Motorcycle India released its sales figures for the month of July which shows that the company has recorded a marginal year-on-year growth last month. The company sold a total of 76,230 units including 60,892 units dispatched in the Indian market and 15,338 units exported. This accounted for overall growth of 4.3 per cent as compared to the sales of the corresponding month last year.
Suzuki’s new 125cc scooter, the Avenis 125, has been following an upward trajectory of demand over the last few months. As we had reported recently, Suzuki had sold 9,284 units of the Avenis 125 in June 2022 which was around 500 units more than the Burgman Street 125. In fact, Avenis’ individual month-on-month sales have also been marginally growing as it garnered 8,922 customers in May. Notably, we are yet to get our hands on Suzuki’s model-wise sales for the month of July.
In other news, Suzuki launched its iconic big bike, the Katana, in the first week of July in India, which was closely followed by the commencement of its deliveries in the country. The motorcycle has been priced at Rs 13.61 lakh (ex-showroom) which makes it one of the most affordable inline four-cylinder bikes on sale in India.
