- New GSX-8S unveiled at the 2022 EICMA show
- Gets a new 776cc, parallel-twin engine
Suzuki has taken the wraps off its all-new middle-weight streetfighter, the GSX-8S, at the ongoing 2022 EICMA show in Milan, Italy.
The motorcycle boasts a radical styling with a headlamp cowl that resembles Wolverine’s beard, sharp forward-pointing fuel tank extensions, a sculpted fuel tank, and an upswept stubby tail section. The motorcycle is decently equipped in terms of electronics with three output modes, a three-mode traction control system, and a bi-directional quick shifter. The lighting system is full-LED and the instrumentation setup comprises a colour TFT screen with a wide array of data on display.
Powering the motorcycle is a 776cc, 270-degree, parallel-twin engine with a six-speed gearbox. It rides on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels that are shod with Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres. Damping duties are handled by upside-down forks and a monoshock, both sourced from KYB. Braking, meanwhile, is taken care of by a pair of 310mm radially-mounted disc brakes at the front with floating calipers and a single 240mm single-piston caliper at the back. With a kerb weight of 202kg, the bike sports a fuel tank of 14-litre.
The Suzuki GSX-8S will go up against the likes of the DucatiMonster and the Triumph Street Triple R. And it will certainly arrive at the Indian shores in the coming months.
