It’s no secret that Kinetic is planning to bring SWM Motorcycles to India. But unfortunately, the company hasn’t been able to specify an exact timeline for the official debut. Still, It looks like the first SWM bike might hit Indian shores in mid-2018.
The Superdual will be one of the first models to make its way to India. Kinetic will assemble all the SWM bikes at their facility in Ahmednagar. The Superdual is available in two variants, T and X. The T is the touring model whereas the X is the off-road version.
For now, Kinetic will only sell the touring variant through its Motoroyale showroons. The Superdual T is powered by a 600cc liquid-cooled single cylinder motor. This engine churns out 53bhp at 7500rpm and peak torque of 53.5Nm at 6500rpm. This engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Kinetic is looking to price the Superdual T between Rs 5 lakhs and Rs 7 lakhs, which we think is on the higher side. SWM is new for India and doesn’t have brand recall like the MV Agusta. Besides, it is powered by an old single cylinder engine. Its closest competitor, the Kawasaki Versys 650 is also expensive but features parallel twin engine, a fantastic front forks setup and has brand value like no other.
