So two wheeler-manufacturers have been catching up on this trend and offering their products with what is probably the most basic form of connectivity; Bluetooth. We bring to you five two-wheelers that are offered with the feature in India.
Revolt RV 400
The Revolt RV400 was recently unveiled in the country. And since it’s a modern electric vehicle, it goes without saying that the RV400 is a ‘connected’ two-wheeler. The motorcycle comes with a fully-digital instrument cluster that can be paired to a smartphone via an app. This app offers functions like ‘Start Electric’ which starts the motorcycle, a geo-fencing safety feature and even a ‘Delivery on Demand’ feature that allows the user to have a charged battery delivered to their location.
Ather 450
The Ather 450 has been pegged as a ‘smart scooter’ which boasts of many interesting features that can be accessed via the dedicated app. After connecting the scooter to the smartphone, the user can access data like battery and charging status. Furthermore, it gets a seven-inch touchscreen with a customisable layout that also integrates a navigation system.
Hero XPulse
The XPulse is Hero’s first product with a fully-digital instrument cluster. And this white-backlit unit is Bluetooth-enabled which means it can be paired to a smartphone. While it doesn’t have a dedicated app, the instrument cluster offers turn-by-turn navigation as well as call alerts.
TVS Ntorq 125
The TVS Ntorq 125 is one of the first mass-produced scooters to offer fully-digital instrumentation in India. Apart from displaying a host of information, the unit also offers turn-by-turn navigation and call alerts. Furthermore, the dedicated app also provides the user with information like parking location assist and ride statistics.
Aprilia SR 150 Race
The Aprilia SR150 Race is also available with smartphone connectivity. After connecting a smartphone to the scooter, the rider needs to input the chassis number on the app. The app will then not only keeps a track of vehicle data but also helps in locating the place where the scooter is parked. It also has a panic alert system which alerts the pre-designated contacts in the phone in case of emergency. Furthermore, the app also notifies the user for a pending service and even helps locate the nearest service centres. The app also provides assistance for locating fuel-station and customer care.
