Long-distance solo ride: Should you do it? | Episode 11 | The BikeWale Podcast
Why should you be doing it?
As Neil says, the whole essence of riding your motorcycle alone is to feel connected to it, without having to worry about your human companions. There’s peace, there’s freedom, there’s solitude and a whole lot of other good reasons to do it. We dig deeper into these reasons as to why a lot of people ride solo over long distances and why you should be doing it too.
Risks involved
Well, there’s also a darker side to it. It once happened with one of our courageous friends who was riding alone through a dense forest. As he stopped to answer nature’s call, a group of monkeys snatched his luggage mounted on the bike and started running away. He somehow managed to get it back and learnt his lesson. So getting mugged or attacked by animals are a few things you’ll have to consider while planning your solo road trip.
Things to remember
To avoid instances like mentioned above, a few precautionary measures are required to be taken for an experience worth cherishing a lifetime. Carrying necessary medicines, having a tool kit and keeping an eye out for sign posts are some of these. Tune in to the podcast to know more of such things to remember while planning your long-distance solo motorcycle ride.
