The two-day ‘India Bike Week 2021 – The Special Edition’ recently concluded in Aamby Valley, Maharashtra. The annual event witnessed the arrival of new products in the Indian market. Here we list the top-five highlights from the India Bike Week 2021.
Honda HNess CB350 Anniversary Edition Launch
Honda 2Wheelers India announced the launch of its new HNess CB350 Anniversary Edition at the India Bike Week 2021. This special edition model, as stated by Honda 2Wheelers India, will be available in limited numbers. However, the upper cap for the production of this model is not available yet. The new HNess CB350 features several styling upgrades over the standard motorcycle. The colour palette, for example, has two new options – Pearl Igneous Black and Matte Marshal Green Metallic. The Anniversary Edition comes with contrasting gold highlights on the fuel tank. It also features the Anniversary Edition logo and the gold Honda badging on the side. It has been priced at Rs 2.03 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).
Honda CB300R BS6 Unveiled
The Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer also unveiled the BS6-compliant CB300R for the Indian market. The prices for this model are not available yet, however, Honda 2Wheelers India will announce its launch and start deliveries in January 2022. The BS6-compliant CB300R gets subtle styling updates such as golden upside-down forks and an assist and slipper clutch mechanism for its six-speed gearbox. The mechanical specifications for the BS6 model are not available yet. The BS4 version, for reference, used a 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produced 30bhp and 27.4Nm of peak torque.
Kawasaki India showcased its newly launched Z650RS at the recently concluded event in Aamby Valley. This new model, which joins the company’s portfolio to compete in the middleweight segment of the Indian market, is available at Rs 6.65 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The new Kawasaki Z650RS will rival the likes of Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650, Honda CB650R, and the Benelli Leoncino 500 in the Indian market. The retro-style model from the Japanese manufacturer is available in two colours – Candy Emerald Green and Metallic Moondust Gray. The mechanical specifications include a 649cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that the Z650RS shares with the Ninja 650 and the Z650. Linked to a six-speed transmission, the motor is tuned to deliver 67.3bhp of power at 6,700rpm and 64Nm of peak torque at 8,000rpm.
Harley-Davidson Sportster S Launch
Harley-Davidson India launched its new Sportster S at an ex-showroom (India) price tag of Rs 15.51 lakh. This new Sportster range motorcycle gets a distinctively designed headlamp, a short fender, high-set exhausts, and a single seat. The mechanical specifications include a 1,250cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine that is also seen on the new Pan America 1250 adventure tourer. The motor is tuned to deliver 119.3bhp of power and 127.4Nm of peak torque on the Sportster S.
Harleys On The Roof Of The World
The American manufacturer also premiered its new promotional video for the Pan America 1250 at the India Bike Week 2021. ‘The High Road’ is a film about riding the first Harley-Davidsons at an altitude of 18,603 feet in the Himalayas. For this film, Harley-Davidson India sent five Pan America 1250 adventure tourers to Key La in the Himalayas.
