Tork Motors has launched the Kratos electric motorcycle in the Indian market with ex-showroom prices starting from Rs 1,92,499 (ex-showroom, Pune before subsidies) onwards. The electric two-wheeler maker will offer the motorcycle in two variants – standard and R. Here we list the top five highlights of the new Tork Kratos.
Variants, Prices and Availability
The Tork Kratos will be sold in two variants. The base model has been priced at Rs 1,92,499 while the premium version, which packs better performance and more features, is available at Rs 2,07,499 (ex-showroom, Pune before subsidies). Post subsidy, the ex-showroom (Pune) price for the Kratos and the Kratos R come down to Rs 1,07,999 and Rs 1,22,999, respectively. The bookings for the motorcycles are open on the company’s website for Rs 999. The company will roll out the Kratos electric motorcycle in a phased manner. In the first phase, this electric motorcycle will be available in Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Delhi.
Design and Colours
Both, the Kratos and the Kratos R feature a naked roadster styling that is complemented by a triangular-shaped headlight, split-type seat, and two-piece pillion grab rails. The feature list both variants include full-LED lighting and a fully-digital instrument cluster as standard. The two variants are distinguished through their respective colour choices. The base model is available in white colour option. The R variant is listed in four colour choices – white, blue, red, and black.
Hardware
The motorcycle is built around a steel trellis frame. The suspension tasks are handled by telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock while the anchoring duties are performed by single discs on both ends. The safety net on both variants includes CBS tech.
Engine and Performance
The electric motor on the standard Tork Kratos delivers a peak power output of 7.5kW or 10.05bhp and a maximum torque of 28Nm. The R variant makes a relatively higher power output of 9kW or 12.06bhp and peak torque of 38Nm. The base model can accelerate from 0-40kmph in four seconds while the maximum speed is rated at 100kmph. The R variant, with its relatively higher power and torque output, boasts a top speed of 105kmph and a 0-40kmph acceleration time of 3.5 seconds.
Both variants use a 4kWH, IP67 certified, lithium-ion battery pack that is claimed to deliver an IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 180km. The company claims a real-life range of 120km per charge. The R variant boasts fast charging capabilities, and Tork Motors claims a 0-80 per cent charge in one hour. Buyers of Kratos R can avail free access to Tork’s charging network for two years.
Features
The standard features on both variants include multiple ride modes, regenerative braking, reverse mode, mobile connectivity, USB charging, anti-theft, front storage box, and OTA updates among others. The R variant further benefits from additional features such as fast charging, free access to the charging network for two years, geofencing, find my vehicle, motor walk assist, crash alert, track mode, and smart charge analysis.
