Before the official launch of its electric motorcycles in India, Tork Motors has installed its first electric vehicle fast-charging station in its home city, Pune. The facility has been set up at Café Peter’s Bund Garden Road outlet.
The new charging station can provide up to 100V battery capacity. It can be used to charge any electric vehicle which is offered with a GB/T plug. Meanwhile, the company also claims to deliver a seamless payment experience at this station for the customers. According to the brand, the new charging station is compliant with Bharat EV specifications set by the government.
Tork Motors plans to expand its network by setting up multiple charging points in the coming months which will feature different type of chargers to facilitate charging of multiple EV models. Before launching its first product in India, Tork Motors has already started prepping for it with its first charging station. The company says this is in-line with the government’s vision to actively promote adaption of electric vehicles in India.
Tork Motors’ first electric motorcycle to be launched in India will be the T6X. It was first unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo and was recently teased by the company in a video, hinting at an imminent launch. Likely to be introduced by the end of this year, the T6X will directly compete against the Revolt RV400 and the RV300 electric bikes.
