- Tork T6X electric motorcycle spied
- Looks completely ready for production
- Official launch could take place in early 2022
Pune-based Tork Motors was expected to debut in the Indian electric two-wheeler market back in 2017. However, the company seems to be running far behind its schedule and we have only spotted test mules of their T6X electric motorcycle until now. In a recent update, another test unit of the Tork T6X electric bike has been spied testing.
The last time T6X was spotted was in March 2020. The motorcycle looked nearly ready for production but all the body panels and its battery pack were completely camouflaged. This time though, the electric bike was just partially covered and looked much closer to production than the last time.
The design of the bike is slightly different from the previously-spotted mule. The headlamp is a triangular-shaped unit, similar to that of the Pulsar NS 200. The mid-section comprises a muscular fuel tank-like panel that extends up to the tail, looking like a single assembly. Under the ‘fuel tank’, there’s an angular panel on both sides, similar to the radiator cowl on ICE motorcycles. The added sporty-ness comes from a split-type seat and split pillion grab rail.
The Tork T6X will get upmarket features like LED lighting all around and a fully-digital instrument cluster. Also, it won’t be surprising to see turn-by-turn navigation and other Bluetooth-based features. The exact battery and motor specifications of the bike aren’t known yet. However, the company did share sometime back that the bike will incorporate a motor based on Axial Flux technology which has its peak efficiency between 90-96 per cent and contributes to better longevity and smaller battery size.
Looking at the progress made with the T6X, we expect Tork to launch the electric motorcycle in the first half of 2022. In terms of pricing, it will be placed on the premium side, somewhere north of Rs 1.25 lakh.
