- First official teaser released by the company
- Video reveals the sound of the electric motor propelling the T6X
- Likely to launch the electric bike later this year
With test mules of the T6X electric bike being spotted twice till now, it has been hinted that the Pune-based start-up Tork Motors is likely to launch its first electric bike soon. Now, the company has released its first teaser of the T6X in the form of a video revealing details of the T6X and also confirming that the launch date is all too imminent.
The short video shows a camouflaged T6X accelerating through a tunnel. The video’s soundtrack provides an idea of how the electric bike will be heard due to the sound produced by the electric motor which powers the electric bike. The whining tone of the electric motor sounds interesting and should be worth experiencing. And just for that, we hope that the release of this teaser video implies that we don't have to wait too long for the launch of this bike.
The T6Xelectric bike is powered by a 6kW BDLC electric motor which, the manufacturer claims, will offer 27Nm of torque that’ll be instantly available on twisting the throttle. Powering the motor is a 72Ah lithium-ion battery that can be charged to 80 per cent capacity with just an hour of charging. The company claims that on the full charge, the T6X will be capable of returning a range of 100km and achieve a top speed of 100kph. The company has been reworking on the overall design of the motorcycle in order to cut down on weight, thus improving its overall efficiency.
The T6X is likely to meet the requirements for FAME-II subsidy provided it carries a price tag that sits below the 1.5 lakh mark. The company is working on heavily localising it, chiefly for easy availability of batteries and other components to the consumers.
We expect Tork Motors to schedule the launch of the T6X later this year. Once launched, the motorcycle will compete against upcoming bikes like the Ultraviolette F77 and Revolt’s AI-enabled electric motorcycle.
