Tork Motorcycles has announced that its electric two-wheeler will be unveiled before the end of this year. Last week, the Pune-based start-up raised an angel funding of undisclosed amount through several investors, giving it the boost for the development of its maiden full-blown project, christened T6X.
As far as the specifications go, the Tork T6X will be able to run for more than 100 kilometres on a single charge and will integrate features like GPS, cloud connectivity and phone charging. The digital display on the bike and the cloud connectivity will make it easy to diagnose when the motorcycle requires maintenance. The display will also provide information with regards to the nearest charging point for the motorcycle.
Company founder Kapil Shelke says that the first prototype of the Tork T6X is in its final stages, which is quite astonishing considering that it has been just nine months since the motorcycle first took the form of a sketch. The T6X won’t be the first of the company’s enterprises, as Tork already has an Isle of Man TT podium in the TT Zero class to its credit, a feat the company accomplished in 2009. Tork had previously also rolled out a Yamaha FZ retrofitted with an electric motor, though the motorcycle never made a mark in the Indian market. The T6X though, will be developed from the ground-up as a brand new product. The Tork T6X is projected to be ready by the end of this year, with production expected to commence in the first quarter of 2017.
