KTM has unveiled the limited-edition, track-only RC 8C. The motorcycle, which uses a bespoke chassis and several premium components, will be limited to just 100 units worldwide. Here we bring you a detailed image gallery of the new KTM RC 8C.
The new RC 8C uses a KTM RC16-inspired carbon Kevlar reinforced GRP bodywork. The middleweight model uses MotoGP-style aerodynamic winglets for added downforce, a full-fairing design, clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs, a quick-release tank and body panels, and a racing exhaust with Akrapovic titanium muffler.
The mechanical specifications include an 889cc, liquid-cooled, eight-valve, parallel-twin engine producing 126bhp of maximum power.
The racetrack-focussed cockpit includes AIM MXS 1.2 RACE dashboard and data logger with integrated GPS function and a five-inch TFT display with integrated data recording.
The suspension setup on the KTM RC 8C includes 43mm WP APEX PRO 7543 closed cartridge front forks and a WP APEX PRO 7746 rear mono-shock. KTM says that the front forks are assembled in the same department which builds and maintains the suspension of the KTM RC16.
The braking duties are handled by twin 290mm discs with Brembo Stylema callipers at the front and a single 230mm rotor with a Brembo two-piston calliper at the back. The motorcycle also gets a Brembo 19RCS CORSA CORTA radial master cylinder.
The RC 8C is built around a bespoke frame that is made with 25CrMo4 steel tubular and it rides on lightweight Dymag wheels that are wrapped in Pirelli SC1 race slick tyres.
