- Triumph to expand its factory in UK
- To cater to growing demand in Europe
- All bikes are manufactured in Thailand
Triumph Motorcycle is planning to expand its production facility in UK. This expansion is being to accommodate the production of the Tiger 1200 for the local market.
The company claims that its overall sales in Europe and also in other markets have grown considerably, thanks to the motorcycles like the Trident 660 and the Tiger 900 range. However, there has been a strong increase in sales within Europe and that made them take a call to expand its assembly line in UK.
Currently, majority of their bikes are made in Thailand and exported worldwide. This was done was the British brand wanted to focus primarily on R&D, prototyping and creation of special edition models. This is why the production at their UK plant was reduced from 7000 bikes a year to 4500 bikes.
The assembly line expansion is bound to create new jobs and this will help the local community as well. The brand plans to assemble the Tiger 900, Speed Triple and also the big Rocket 3 at their UK plan before the end of 2022.
