Triumph expands its dealership reach to 100 stores in India

- Achieved in slightly over a year of Bajaj handling Triumph India

- Triumph dealerships present in 75 cities across India now

- Bajaj plans to expand Triumph’s presence to 120 cities in a year

Bajaj Auto has announced that it recently inaugurated the 100th Triumph dealership in India thereby expanding the British brand’s footprint to 75 cities across the country. This has been achieved in slightly over a year after Bajaj Auto took over Triumph’s India operations.

Bajaj announced the acquisition of Triumph’s sales and service in India in April last year. This is when the Chakan-based brand revealed its intention to expand Triumph’s dealership reach to 120 cities in India in two years. It seems that the company is on track to achieving that goal. This announcement comes on the heels of Triumph achieving another milestone of selling over 50,000 units of its 400cc motorcycles in over 50 countries including USA, Japan, Germany, UK, and Australia within a year of their launch.

Triumph Left Rear Three Quarter

Triumph launched the Speed 400 in India in July 2023 marking its entry into the 300-500cc motorcycle class. This was followed by the debut of the Scrambler 400 X, the more adventure-centric iteration of the Speed 400. While the latter is priced at Rs. 2.24 lakh (for a limited period), the former costs Rs. 2.54 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).

Both entry-level Triumphs are powered by the same 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm. While the Speed rides on 17-inch wheels, the Scrambler gets a 19-17-inch combination. Moreover, there’s a difference in their suspension travel, front braking hardware, and dimensions. While both bikes get full-LED lighting, assist and slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS, and semi-digital console, only the Scrambler 400 X allows switching the rear ABS off for some sliding action.
