Triumph motorcycles, the iconic British brand may open bookings in India from March 2013. Our sources have confirmed the company is close to finalizing dealers here and they are expected to commence operations latest by the end of first quarter of next year.
Triumph unveiled 7 models at the 2012 Auto Expo including the Tiger XC, Speed Triple, Street Triple, Storm, Bonneville, Daytona 675 and the Rocket III. During the Auto Expo, the company had announced that some of the products will come to India via CKD route to enable duty savings and later consider full manufacturing as well depending on the market condition.
The two wheeler maker had earlier planned to roll-out models in India by Diwali 2012, but have delayed the launch to 2013.The company’s new assembly plant will come up at Narasapur, Bangalore and they plan to have 3-4 dealerships in their first year of operations. The number will later increase to 10-12 in 3 years. First three dealerships of Triumph will open in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
Triumph had actually announced mouth-watering introductory prices at the Expo in January, but we expect the prices to increase a bit when the bookings open, due to inflation and depreciating Rupee.
