- Triumph Motorcycles to compete for supermotocross
- Will compete with brand new 250cc MX bikes
- Have plans for 450cc class too
Triumph Motorcycles has announced its intention to participate and compete at the 2024 Monster Energy AMA Supermotocross world championship.
The brand will do this under the newly created racing division and partner with Bobby Hewitt. Triumph will use 250cc MX and enduro motorcycles for this new competition for this championship. The company has been working on these new dirt bikes for the last few years and will showcase a range sometime next year.
The British brand also intends to compete with the 450cc class, which will happen from 2025 onwards. The 450cc MX range, too, is being designed and developed by Triumph’s in-house team.
It is clear from this development that the company first wants to make its presence felt in the 250cc class. It could take a lot of learnings and mistakes from this and apply it to the 450cc range.
