- It is the most accessible Scrambler 1200 variant
- Gets 820mm seat height which can be reduced by 25mm
- The engine remains common across all Scrambler 1200s
Triumph has widened its portfolio by launching the new Scrambler 1200 X in India. With a price tag of Rs. 11.83 lakh (ex-showroom), it’s the more affordable variant of the Scrambler 1200 XC and XE.
With a seat height of 820mm, the X’s saddle sits much lower than the XC which should make the former accessible for the shorter riders. Moreover, the seat height can be further reduced to 795mm, courtesy of the availability of an accessory lower seat. The suspension and braking hardware of the X is also more basic as it gets just preload adjustability for the rear Marzocchi monoshock along with axially mounted Nissin calipers. The XC, meanwhile, gets adjustable suspension at both ends along with Brembo M50 brake calipers.
What remains common across the Scrambler 1200 range is the 1,200cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine with a 270-degree crank that produces 88.7bhp and 110Nm of peak torque. Making it off-road-ready are long-travel suspension and a 21-17-inch spoke wheel combination. The kerb weight of the bike stands at 228kg while the fuel tank capacity is 15 litres. In terms of features, it gets a digital console which is a mix of LCD and TFT, five riding modes, cornering dual-channel ABS, and traction control.
