Triumph teases new 800cc motorcycle; unveil on 22 October

- New 800cc Triumph bike teased

- Could be a bigger Street Triple

- Global unveil on 22 October

Triumph Motorcycles has released a short teaser video on its official Instagram account. This 10-second reel shows only the ‘800’ numbers and the ‘Triumph’ badging on the fuel tank.

From this video, it is quite difficult to say which bike the company plans to unveil. But we think it is the Street Triple, as this motorcycle currently runs a 765cc engine. With a jump to 800cc, Triumph will be able to compete head-on with Yamaha’s recently unveiled R9. In fact, the MT 09 is also likely to get a big update soon—a direct rival of the Street Triple.

There have been rumours about the Trident 660 getting the 800cc engine, but that is unlikely to happen. The whole point of a 660cc platform was to have an accessible and affordable middleweight motorcycle. So a bigger Trident looks out of the picture. The British brand would always focus on the Street Triple more as it is their flagship street bike brand.

This new motorcycle will be unveiled on 22 October, and will also be on display at 2024 EICMA. India launch will happen sometime mid-next year and will be sold through all Triumph showrooms in India.
