- TVS and Jio-bp announce partnership
- To create AC-charging and DC fast-charging network
TVS Motor Company and Jio-bp have joined hands to set up electric two-wheeler and three-wheeler charging infrastructure in India. Both the companies will concertedly work towards creating a regular AC-charging network and a DC fast-charging network.
Jio-bp, another name for Reliance BP Mobility Limited (RBML), has already established EV charging and swapping stations under the brand Jio-bp pulse. These stations are located at RBML’s fueling bunks which are located in various regions across India. TVS and Jio-bp will be utilizing the latter’s rapidly expanding presence to deliver EV charging solutions for TVS’ electrically-operated products as well as other electric vehicles. This partnership will be another catalyst to the growing EV charging infrastructure in India, which is already being driven by a host of other brands and partnerships.
TVS is one of the first mainstream ICE two-wheeler brands that ventured into the EV territory with the iQube. The company has sold over 12,000 units of the iQube in India ever since its launch. What’s interesting is that TVS will be introducing a complete portfolio of electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers in the range of 5-25kW and that too within the next 24 months. The aforementioned partnership seems to be in line with the brand’s aggressive expansion plans in the EV segment.
