The TVS Apache 200 has been teased ahead of the bike’s official unveiling on January 20. The teaser, which was released in Indonesia, invites enthusiasts to spread the word about the motorcycle to win a chance to experience the bike at the Sentul Circuit.
The long awaited TVS Apache 200 is expected to be much more than a revitalised version of the current range. Though the engine block seems similar to the one on the Apache RTR 180, the new oil-cooled unit will displace 200cc. Styling has also received a major boost, thanks to design influences from the Draken X21 concept. The Apache 200 is expected to get a twin outlet exhaust, to boost the acoustics and the visual appeal of the bike.
The front also gets a completely new design, with an edgy headlamp and DRLs. It rides on conventional telescopic front forks and a swingarm-linked monoshock unit. The instrument cluster is made of a single digital display, which integrates a speedometer, tachometer, gear indicator, clock, fuel gauge, odometers, trip meters and a service due indicator.
The TVS Apache 200 will be the flagship model in the company’s line-up, and will lock horns with the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar 220F and the Pulsar AS200. Rumours suggest that TVS will also be launching the new Victor on January 20, though the company has refused to confirm this.
