The Apache RR 310, earlier known as the Akula 310 debuted as a carbon-fibre clad track bike concept. It has now become a road-going production model and as we reported, will launch in two weeks. As the countdown begins, we tell you what you can expect from the TVS Apache RR 310 when it launches here-
Styling
The Apache RR 310 is a fully-faired small-capacity sportbike, a first for TVS. It sports a sharp design language which runs all through the bike. The clip-on handlebars offer a slightly upright riding position, apt for sport-touring. The beefy fuel tank with edgy lines and a step seat to add to its sporty character. The Apache RR 310 also features two projector headlamps and a sharply-designed LED tail lamp.
Engine
Powering the Apache RR 310 is the same 313cc single cylinder engine that the BMW G310R uses, mated to a six-speed gearbox. While this engine puts out 34bhp of power and 28Nm of torque in the streetfighter, we expect TVS to retain this state of tune in the Apache RR 310.
Braking and Suspension
The suspension setup on the Apache RR 310 consists of 41mm inverted front forks and a preload adjustable monoshock at the rear, the same as the BMW G310R. Stopping power comes from a 300mm petal single-disc up front and a 240mm petal disc at the rear. It is also expected to get ABS.
Instrumentation
The bike’s instrument console is an LCD unit which displays the engine temperature, fuel level, speed, gear indicator, clock, odometer and side stand indicator. The display also houses a unique tachometer which displays rpm in a vertically ascending manner. The Apache RR 310 shares its mirrors and switchgear with its other siblings.
Pricing
TVS is expected to price the Apache RR 310 around Rs 2 lakhs making it the most affordable 300cc in the Indian market. The bike will compete against the KTM RC390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Benelli 302R and the upcoming Yamaha R3.
