After taking the third position from Bajaj in the Indian two-wheeler market, TVS is now betting big with international developed markets, especially the US. Two Apache RTR 180 ABS motorcycles were spotted testing by a team-bhp member in US.
As per the report, the riders denied it being a personal import and confirmed that it was being tested. This gives us a clear picture about the Hosur-based company showing interest in selling the 180cc motorcycle in US, which is currently the most developed country when it comes to motorcycles and scooters. TVS is already exporting some of its motorcycles and scooters to various international markets including Latin America. But with just 17.03bhp in its kitty, the Apache RTR 180 ABS will be positioned as an entry level motorcycle that will have its own set of consumers. Majority of the manufacturers there sell motorcycles which has more than one cylinder because of the country’s need of easy cruising at freeways. But there is still market for bikes like the Apache and the interesting bit is, this bike could be one of the most affordable ABS bike in US.
But if TVS is really launching the Apache RTR 180 ABS in US, then we can expect it to retail through BMW dealerships in the country, thanks to their alliance that happened place last year.
