- TVS’ overall sales down by 15 per cent in November 2021
- Motorcycle sales recorded a positive response
TVS Motor Company witnessed a massive downfall in its sales in the month of November 2021. The overall sales of the Hosur-based manufacturer stood at 272,693 units last month which was down from 322,709 units in the corresponding month last year. This is a decline of around 15 per cent.
The domestic two-wheeler sales of the company reached 175,940 units in November 2021. Whereas, the corresponding month last year recorded dispatches of 247,789 units. Amongst motorcycles and scooters, the latter segment saw a drop in demand with sales coming down from 106,196 units in November 2020 to 75,022 units last month. On the flip side, TVS motorcycles found 140,097 takers last month, up from 133,531 customers in November 2020.
Despite a considerable drop in its domestic sales, TVS recorded positive results in terms of exports. The company dispatched 81,923 units last month which was up from 63,730 units in November 2020. This was a year-on-year growth of 29 per cent.
Talking about TVS’ product portfolio, it was recently updated with the launch of the 2022 Apache RTR 200 4V. The motorcycle received a new headlamp unit with the LED DRL placed at the centre. This is different from the twin claw-shaped DRLs present in the outgoing model. Subsequently, the prices of the bike have also been increased by Rs 755. Now, it sets you back by Rs 1,33,840 for the single-channel ABS version and Rs 1,38,890 for the dual-channel version.
