- Likely being tested for the export market
- Features a front disc and rear drum brake
- India launch unlikely
The TVS HLX 150 has been spotted testing in Bengaluru recently. This bike gets a thorough commuter bodywork with a purposeful design, but we assume it’s being developed for the export market. So, TVS could test and develop it here but sell the motorcycle in the international market only.
The recent spy shots show that the bike is ready for production in its latest generation. It features a simple design with a halogen headlight wrapped in a plastic cowl, a slim fuel tank, and a single seat. Moreover, there’s also a utility rack at the rear. Then, there are the HLX 150 stickers on the lower side panels, and tubular engine crash guards at the front.
It's likely equipped with the same 147cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that TVS uses in the current generation model. This motor makes 11.9bhp and 12.3Nm and is linked to a five-speed gearbox. Its feature list is quite bare basic. There’s an analogue instrument console and a USB charging port too. On the hardware front, the HLX test bike is equipped with telescopic front forks and dual rear shocks. Meanwhile, the braking hardware gets a front disc and rear drum mounted on alloy wheels.
TVS is likely to launch the HLX 150 in Kenya and other countries in the same region. However, if you are looking for a 150cc commuter, then there are other options like the Bajaj Pulsar 150, Honda Unicorn, and more.
