- Likely to get an affordable asking price
- Spotted testing recently
- To be launched next year
Ather Energy CEO, Tarun Mehta, has revealed that the next Ather electric scooter will be launched in 2024. It will be a thoroughbred family-oriented EV and will get an affordable asking price. Moreover, the same has also been spotted in testing recently.
From the test mule’s appearance, it is evident that the new Ather E-scooter's proportions could be larger. The bodywork is different, slightly boxier, and a tad simpler than the current 450 range. Then, the seat and floorboard appear spacious too. Overall, the design approach is more on the conventional side. The Ather test scooter was equipped with a horizontally placed LED headlight and taillight.
It is also expected to feature Ather’s latest ‘Deep View’ display - the same unit as the one we see on the current Ather 450S. On the other hand, the test scooter’s hardware was quite simple and comprised telescopic front forks, and a disc brake as well.
Elsewhere, Tarun Mehta also announced that a new 450 series will also be launched very soon. We think it will be the recently teased Series 2 range that is set to be equipped with transparent body panels. Currently, the Bengaluru-based EV maker has the 450S, 450X (2.9kWh) and 450X (3.7kWh) in its lineup.
