- Electric Jupiter to be unveiled
- TVS could also showcase a CNG vehicle
- New Jupiter platform is EV-ready
The 2025 edition of the Bharat Mobility Expo is just a few days away, and we believe TVS will unveil a range of green vehicles.
TVS is one of the few companies that joined the green bandwagon quite early with the launch of the iQube. Now, four years later, the company is planning to expand this clean energy line-up with the launch of new electric vehicles along with CNG ones.
Currently, the iQube is the only electric scooter the company has been selling in India. But the recent few launches – the new Jupiter 110 have been built on a platform that is EV friendly too. The new Jupiter platform has been developed with future EV versions in mind. The fuel tank is below the floorboard, allowing the company to use the same placement for batteries. The electric motor can go where the current 110cc and 125cc engines are mounted. This route will help TVS bring the overall R&D costs down. So the electric version of Jupiter is highly likely to make its India debut at the expo.
There are also rumours about TVS working on CNG models. Since the Bajaj Freedom was launched, a few brands have talked about taking the CNG approach and TVS is one of them. While Bajaj got a CNG motorcycle, TVS could bring in this tech on a scooter. The 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo could see the first CNG vehicle from TVS.
