- TVS sells 2.62 lakh two-wheelers last month
- Domestic sales decrease by 7.6 per cent

TVS Motor Company has announced an 8 per cent growth in total sales for the month of July. The company sold a total of 2.62 lakh motorcycles and scooters as compared to 2.43 lakh units in July 2020.
However, the Chennai-based manufacturer’s domestic sales have taken a dip. TVS sold 1.75 lakh two-wheelers in India last month as opposed to the 1.89 lakh sales figure it reported in the same period last year, registering a 7.6 per cent decrease. Nonetheless, exports for the company witnessed a 62 per cent growth going from 54,141 in July 2020 to 87,559 units in July 2021.
Out of the total sales number, TVS’ scooter sales for July stood at 74,351 as compared to 78,603 units sold in the same month in 2020. On the other hand, motorcycles witnessed a 30 per cent increase with TVS selling 1.38 lakh units last month.
TVS recently launched the iQube electric scooter in Kochi, making it a total of six cities that the scooter is available in. The company has also announced that the iQube will be available in 1000 dealerships by 2022, Besides that, the company is bullish about the EV segment and will be investing Rs 1,000 crore toward electric vehicles.
