- Overall sales grew by 18 per cent
- Scooter sales witnessed 56 per cent increase
- Exports grew by 23 per cent
TVS Motor Company has reported its sales data for February 2021, registering an 18 per cent growth in year-on-year numbers. The company sold 2,97,747 units in February 2021 as against 2,53,261 units in the corresponding month last year.
The overall two-wheeler sales grew by 21 per cent, and the Hosur-based two-wheeler maker sold 2,84,581 units in February 2021 as against 2,35,891 units in February 2020. The domestic two-wheeler sales grew from 1,69,684 units in February 2020 to 1,95,145 units in February 2021, registering a 15 per cent increase.
Motorcycles sales grew by 16 per cent, recording 1,37,259 units in February 2021 as against 1,18,514 units in February 2020. The scooter sales grew by 56 per cent, registering 95,525 units in February 2021 as against 60,633 units in February 2020.
Exports, too, witnessed a positive growth, and TVS Motor Company registered a 23 per cent increase. The company exported 1,01,789 units in February 2021 as against 82,877 units in February last year. The two-wheeler exports grew by 35 per cent with 89,436 units in February 2021 as against 66,207 units in the corresponding month in 2020.
The company added in its press statement that while the demand in the export market continues to be robust, scarcity in container availability is affecting overall volumes.
