- Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 1,67,795 units
- Motorcycles contributed 1,37,360 units to the total sales

TVS Motor Company has announced its sales data for January 2022. The Hosur-based manufacturer sold2,54,139 units in January 2022 as against 2,94,596 units in the corresponding month last year, thus registering a year-on-year decline of 13.73 per cent.
The domestic sales stood at 1,67,795 units in January 2022 as against 2,05,216 units in January 2021. Exports, too, declined and TVS Motor Company sold 86,344 two-wheelers in the international markets in January 2022 as against 89,380 units in January last year. Among the total sales, motorcycles contributed 1,37,360 units in January 2022 against 1,36,790 units in January 2021. Scooter sales comprised 80,580 units in January 2022 as against 98,319 units in the corresponding month of 2021.
The company said in its press announcement that the production and sales of premium two-wheelers were severely affected due to the shortage of semiconductors. However, the two-wheeler maker said that it was cautiously optimistic that this will improve in the coming months.
