As for the Indian market, in particular, TVS registered a 17.5 per cent drop in sales last month with 1.79 lakh motorcycles and scooters sold in the country. In comparison, the company had sold 2.18 lakh units in the same month last year. However, the export market witnessed a 60 per cent growth for TVS with sales of 94,314 units in August 2021 compared to 58,888 units in August 2020.
Now, out of these numbers, motorcycles contributed to 1.33 lakh units while scooters witnessed a sale of 87.059 last month. While the production and sales of a majority of its products were hampered due to the shortage of semi-conductors, TVS is looking at a significant increase in sales in the coming months with the festive season soon approaching.
